Lisa,
That's what Brian is doing...He said his will have such a finish that you can comb your hair in his bottoms, and even see the color of your hair. ..TR

I think we're going the right direction now. If everybody else would just agree to make a black or brown copy of a Justin Roper I might stand a chance next year. However, the way you people make boots I'm still not overly confident.

Ben,
Please extend my congratulations to Greg and family.
And Tex, you could always send me your "Seegar."
A fella can't get a good Texas seegar in my neck of the woods! I will be sure to look up Frank Jones at the HCC this weekend and provide your regards.

Congrats and fine seegars for the brand

On Greg's behalf he has always had the highest regard for everyone in the trade as he fully understands the sacrifices made on behalf of choosing bootmaking as a pilgrimage in life. As his friend I can tell you he is truly a happy father and appreciative of everyone here.

Mr. Cooley,

I am sorry that I missed the Roundup due to my accident, but I have seen pictures from the Round up and that HCC meeting you are talking about. Just me speaking, I think I would only go to the Round up.

I hope you ain’t the guy with the skirt? I’m afraid if I attended that meeting they’d make me wear one just to see my bowled legs. I am sure they are fine people and craftsmen and ladies and friendly folks, but I think I saw only one cowboy hat. I saw a bunch of cowboy hats in the Roundup pictures. I don’t think I could feel comfortable there, and I’m afraid that if they had a social function like Mr. Cunningham’s, I might accidentally ask one of guys in a skirt for a dance and I ain’t that type of cowboy. That sure would ruin my reputation around these parts.

Besides, I doubt if they have Shiner Boch in that neck of the woods.

Did Mr. Thomas have indigestion? Looks like he is in pain and I heard he is a pretty big eater.

Respectfully,

Alvin

Alvin,

Besides Mr. Sorrell, I was the only fella wearing a cowboy hat at the HCC. In the photos I'm in the back of the classroom and in the back row of the outside photo. I tried to stand in the front row for the outside photo but since I'm a rather large man like Mr. Thomas, our photographer (Mr Sorrell) suggested I go to the back row because remaining in the front row might lead folks to belive that I was the only one attending the HCC Meeting.I'm sure there would have been no requirement that you wear a skirt. Like any proper social gathering the only clothing requirements were a shirt and shoes or boots. Skirts and Kilts were optional.
I do know several of ladies were hoping you would have showed up at the HCC. The ladies were looking forward to you teaching them the Texas Two Step. The meeting was held on a farm. I'm sure Biscuit would have been welcome too.

Respectfully,
Randy
