I had the pleasure of taking a field trip to Carl Lichte's shop in the Dallas area. Carl is one of the nicest people you will meet, and very knowlegeable on last building and has a great shop.

Here is his last lathe, in action

This is Carl's "Last Trap"

He takes various last measurements with it. Carl made this himself.

I don't know what this is for exactly, but Carl uses this to trace out the bottoms of lasts (help me out if needed!)

Carl has a real neat shop and is very interesting to talk too. If you would like to pay him a visit when you are in the area, give him a call.

My next goal is to get Carl computer-internet-forum savvy!

Mark,

How cool you went to see Carl, and it would be great if you could get him online. Thanks for posting such great pictures.
