I will post these for those who have never been there. I will always treasure my time spent in the old shop. I just took them of the lobby area.

I spent a lot of time just looking at those walls, there was a lot of good boot history on them.

Thanks Tex

Mark,
Thanks. Kinda makes me homesick. There are a lot of memories there for me and the new shop will never be what that one was in a million years...TR

Tex and Mark

There is a lot of history there, I can see why you might be a little homesick for the old workshop.

Mark,
Yes, Brian is pretty handy, about 5 or 6 mins from me. Yesterday I was needing some black beading and he brought me some on his break...Thanks Brian...TR

Mark,
Thanks for posting the photos of the Coleman shop or more likely Coleman Boot Museum.

Tex
I just had a moment to look over the pictures.
The paneling and pictures are what I remember of the place I went in to back in, I guess "87.
This was when I lived in Brownwood. I can't even remember who I was with but I think it was a customer of mine that had Motorola radios.
Oh well it was nice seeing those pictures.

Gary,
I wish I could remember your visit but in those days there were a lot of people coming through the doors. There would be more each day than I see in a month now.
This was actually the 4th location of Tex Robin Boots since 1954. We were located in the J.H. Nance Saddle shop at 105 Commercial for about 5 yrs and while I was in the Army my father moved to 110 E Pecan. The shop was located there for 13 yrs and then after my father passed away I moved to another building at 1919 S. Commercial. After making boots there for about 2 years I moved to 115 W 8th and was there for 27 yrs. So there are a lot of memories in all of the locations. There were more boots made at 110 W. Pecan because their were from 4 to 6 employees there and we turned out up to 14 pair in a week. My operation was never that big but in the 80s we were turning out about 6 pair per week with 4 employees. But the days of the production shop are over for me..I would rather turn out high quality boots than the rush up stuff we did in those days. The smaller shop will be very adequate but I will have to get used to it first, being only 4 or 5 steps away from anything all day long....TR

Tex,

Since you were in Coleman for such a long time, and had several articles about your shop in the Coleman newspaper, was there an article about you leaving? It would seem that this would be a noteworthy event because for the first time in a bunch of years there is not a boot shop in Coleman.
