Congratulations to Michael Anthony! He is in the March issue of the Robb Report. There is even a full page picture of him that is pretty nice.

Michael Anthony has been working on this project for quite a while now, and recently made a trip to Washington, DC. Yesterday the Washington Post published a story about his trip. Congratulations Michael!!

Too cool for words; what a great expedition.

Michael, what else did you learn about Lincoln from this trip that did not appear in the article?

I was able to identify specific leather creases in the boots and match them with photographs of President Lincoln that were taken by Alexander Gardner during sittings on August 9, 1863 and November 8, 1863. Also, I am pretty sure that they are the boots that Mr. Lincoln is wearing in the photographs taken at Antietam on October 3, 1862 but more research is needed to be conclusive. I collected so much information and details from the boots that it will take some time for me to analyze it all. I am working with the US National Park Service and I am limited to what I can say publicly until they approve my findings. Chapter two of this story is on the horizon. For now, I am off to the workshop to make boots for a man that is still alive.
