If anyone is interested. I was invited to appear on one of the Salt Lake City TV stations morning show. They came to my shop and filmed me working and did an interview, and then had me in the studio live. It was kind of fun and great free publicity. You can see it at www.kjzz.com, in the search box type KJZZ Cafe and then scroll down to Oct 10. The title is Custom Cowboy Boots on Highway 89. Don |

Congrats Don on your "celebrity" status! We are all interested in any of our ilk being so promoted. Our little shop was featured on a nearby TV station newscast once a few years back and in the local newspaper a couple times. Looking good out there!! |

Don, Great job on your TV show! My only fear is that they will "discover you" and turn you into a TV Celebrity or a singing star! I am proud to be your friend and again I want to thank you for the counsel and direction you have so freely given me. Note: Don is the bootmaker that directed me to go to boot school a little over two years ago. Keep up the great work and don't get weak! Thank's again, Larry Peterson |

Don, Double dittos on the great job! I should have asked for your autograph at the Round Up. <grin> Hopefully this will help your business, and help the business for all bootmakers. You and Tex should have performed at the Round Up, Tex is a pretty good guitar picker. And good job on steering Larry in the right direction. Mark |

Don, Great interview and story. Congratulations!! You do have a nice voice. Maybe next year, the bootmaker's should form a group - Lee and Tex on guitar, Wild Bill on keyboards, and of course there is Bo, but you definitely should be the singer. Again, congratulations. Lee & Carrlyn |

Good to hear about boot maker publicity. That is a pretty long piece with your in-person interview and the visit to the shop. But maybe some people can't see the video? The news bureau web site puts the video in a new pop-up window. You need to have 'block pop-up' preferences turned off in your browser. Or go to here is the exact link: http://www.kjzz.com/video/30802569.html?video=pop&t=a

Not to take the spotlight off Don but i happened to see another bootshop on TV this weekend!! As i was watching the news for the forth time sat, I dont know if all ageing people do this but my grandparents have to watch the news everytime it is on, even if it is the same thing 4 times a day. But back to the chase. during the commercials and the many political adds that are overwhelming the broadcast I saw a bootshop. I cant even remember who's political add it was! But i do remember the shop and seeing Lee Miller and Julia in the background working! Sure caught my eye!! Funny how you see bootmakers you know from Austin on an Amarillo TV station!! Small world after all!! James Ross, Panhandle News Channel 10 signing off!! |

Hey James, I've been looking for that spot. That's a public service announcement to get out and vote. I'd like to see it. I heard there was some awesome acting in it |

Verrrry funny guys. It was a 15 second commercial so either you both are pretty sharp, or you were just spacing out at the TV. I do know what caught the attention of James though Glad to hear someone saw it.

I saw that spot too. Hey wasn't that Lee in the background wearing a pair of Addias? Oh wait, that was in The Texas Boot Book! ha ha Sorry Lee, I couldn't resist! But don't worry, Jame Ross is following in your non-boot wearing footsteps! |

Talk all you want Marshall!! But i punch cows and carry on the tradition of cowboyin and wearing good boots to do it more than you central texas retired military "ranch managers!" Heck you would need your military compass and gps in the pastures i gather! |

No doubt James. I've done a lot of day work on some huge Northern Arizona ranches and there were times I was glad that the horse knew the way back to the gatherin' pens. But I thought those funny taco hats you Panhandle cowboys wear had a compass built in them as they always seem to be pointing North?.....grin Rope one for me buddy...... |

Hey Carrlyn, Julie had either recorded one of her episodes of Okra Winfrey or the View and as she was watching it she saw the spot. So we have it recorded and I was able to watch it. And I do agree I am also quite sure what caught young Mr. Ross' eye |

I am pretty sure I saw Lee Miller on TV in the background of an Esperanza Andrade campaign ad. Was that you, Lee? |
