Hi Mr. Walker,

All of those boots look really good. Of course, my favorites are the second picture. It looks too cold up where you live.

Some time back, Lisa or someone suggested that everyone should make at least one pair of Stingray boots. With that in mind, at last years round-up I bought a couple skins. A customer came in last December saw the skins and ordered a pair of boots. Here they are. Now I need to go sharpen every tool that I used on them.

Don,
Nice job on the stingray boots. I have never made any and it won't hurt my ego or my reputation if I don't ever make any. I will send them all to you and whoever else likes it..:-) ...TR

Don,
The stringrays look sharp. I've been hinting at trying a pair...though reluctant because of most bootmakers' shared pain with working with dasyatidae hide. You may have just inspired me to break a few needles.

A belt I made to go with the 101st boots. My customer was with the 101st in Viet Nam and was with the 82nd in the states, hence the 101st on the right and the 82nd on the left. Those of us who are vets understand the significance. For those who don't know, the one in the middle is a Combat Infantrymans Badge (CIB).

Don,

Those Stingrays look great.

I don't know if I personaly will ever take the advice to make at least one pair of them. I'd rather just observe the experiances of others.

Is that varigated red thread you used on them?

Good job!

Time to post some more pictures although it seems like if you're not part of the Texas Oklahoma Arizona crowd you don't get looked at. I know there's someone in Cleveland who wants a look.

Ah, now Don don't do that.
Lots of folks are looking at your work and thinking how good it is.
Your Packers look like they're ready for work. I like your single row stitch around the elk, and the edge on the soles of the 'gators looks really clean.
Good work on all.

Don,

You are truely one of my great heros. Like Paul, Carrlyn, Tex, and so many others, it is just hard to pay a unique compliment to a continual production of pure perfection!

I am sure there are thousands who look on, while a few of you truely great boot builders continue to lead the way. Just 'cause we are silent sometimes, dont mean that we don't appreciate real artistry and talent when we see it.

Don't get weak!

Thanks

Sometimes out here in never-never land one begins to feel alone. I guess I was just whining because the news about the get together had just been posted and I was disappointed that once again I would miss out on a fun time because I live to far away.

Anyway, thanks for the compliments. The packers had already been to work, or perhaps I should say play. I was doing some late season elk hunting and my old packers were letting in too much snow so I made a new pair but forgot to take a picture before I wore them hunting.

The middle pair is elephant that I bought from GH Leather at the roundup two years ago.

Don,
Hello from South Dakota. Where are you located? I can see from the pictures at the top of this string you are acquainted with snow. You must be north of Nacogdoches somewhere. :-)

I'm posting this picture mostly for those of you who have been tempted to start complaining about the heat where you live. Some of us are still waiting for Spring. I took this yesterday 3/15/10
